Good Start for Fitness Week

Great interest was taken in the procession to Kensington Park this afternoon, this being the first event in the Fitness Week Campaign. The Whangarei Pipe Band and the Municipal Band paraded from the town to the Park, a number of vehicles, decorated and otherwise, joining in the procession.

Several sports teams were also represented in the procession. At the Park fine weather had brought together a large number of people who enjoyed a fine afternoon’s entertainment.

Tonight, a dance is being held in the Town Hall, and throughout next week the campaign for fitness will continue.
