Mrs W. J. Byrne Farewelled

Mr and Mrs J. F. S. Briggs gave a very pleasant luncheon party at the Commercial Hotel on Friday, as a farewell to Mrs W. J. Byrne. t Beautiful flowers in shades of gold were used in the table arrangements, and Mrs Briggs, to, receive the guests, wore a, multi-coloured striped frock. Mrs Byrne wore green and gold.

The guests included the Mayor and Mayoress. Mr and Mrs W. Jones, Mr and Mrs Wolff, and Mr and Mrs J. Woolley.

Feeling tribute was made by Mrs Jones to the help which had always been so generously given by Mrs Byrne, in welfare Work, and remarked how, much she would be mifsed. Others added their tribute to Mrs Byrne’s charming personality, and the loss her departure would mean. Mrs Byrne feelingly returned thanks for the generous tributes paid to her, and a happy little function closed with best wishes extended to the departing guest.
