Eight boys and two girls made the trip under the managership of Mr K. M. Hayr, president of the North Auckland Tennis Association. At Auckland the party was joined by Peter, John and Winnie Smith, of Kaikohe, who- had participated in the New Zealand junior championships at Wanganui. Mrs Hayr travelled with the team cs chaperone. ( Transport was provided by a special bus driven by Mr T. Colthart, of Ruakaka, who aided Mr Hayr in coaching lessons. Well Cared For. The young players speak in the highest terms of the officials, who befriended and assisted them in every way possible. No illness was experienced during the trip—not even a case of toothache. “Wo didn’t get very far in the provincial championships," one of the • competitors commented today, "but we gained a great deal of experience. After playing on hard courts in the Northland centres, the Stanley Street turf rather nonplussed us, but we enjoyed every minute of it,”
