Government’s Mercy To Otahuhu Strikers

WELLINGTON, Tuesday. 1 When, several months ago, the em- | ployees of the Otahuhu railway workshops went cut on strike, they ran the risk of losing superannuation privi-leges-and annual allowance of holidays on full pay. However, after some delay, the Minister of Railways, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan, has decided that the strikers w-ill not be permanently penalised in this serious way, but he has written n strong warning against such actions, making it clear that his concession oh the present occasion must not be taken as a precedent.
