Whangarei’s Record Tally

Odds were about even when Whangarei resumed batting against Nomads. Absence of Dunn was felt in the early stages, but his appearance later failed to turn the tide. Fraser, formerly a junior, bowled 17 overs and made a very convincing display., None of the bowlers, however, had much say in the affairs of the game, Whangarei batting very steadily. One hundred was on the board before the second wicket fell, and, with '2OO recorded and five wickets still in hand, Whangarei’s chances were alihost secured.

The advent of Nisbet (71), Clark (20) and Angelo (38) put the issue beyond all doubt. ' . v■ . Nomads’ score was passed with Angelo and Nisbet at the crease, Nisbet ' going out to Fraser a few balls later. Seventh .wicket fell at 299 when Whangarei had outplayed Nomads’ big score.
