No N.Z.-Made Light Available

[Special to “Northern Advocate ”] AUCKLAND, This Day. “This is the laugh of the week,” said the manager of an Auckland firm yesterday, when he described how he had ordered five cases of the only brand of safety matches made in New Zealand, and had received a letter in which it was stated that these could not be supplied. “Mr Nash prohibits the importation of all safety matches. We order from the local factory—and here is the result,” said the manager of the Auckland firm. The letter from his Wellington agent stated: “We regret that we will be unable to ship the safeties, as the factory is at present out of stock, and inundated with orders.”
