Engineer Drowned When Washed Off Rocks

[Per Press Association. Copyright .] WELLINGTON, This Day. The Minister of Public Works, the Hon. R. Semple, advises the death by drowning of Mr W. H. Carter, engineer in charge of the operations on Sunday Island. A small party of Public Works Department engineers have been engaged in construction works on the Island for the past 18 months. The Island experienced a hurricane on Sunday and Monday. While on the foreshore. Mr Carter was washed off the rocks by an exceptionally large wave. He is believed to have relatives in England.
