Mr Chamberlain At Downing Street

LONDON, January 23
Mr and Mrs Chamberlain returned to London today from Chequers. Mr Chamberlain will later have consultations with Viscount Halifax, Sir Samuel Hoare, Sir Thomas Inskip. Mr Oliver Stanley and Mr Malcolm MacDonald.
The Leader of the Opposition. Mr C. R. Attlee, and Mr Arthur Greenwood called on Mr Chamberlain this evening, when, it is understood, the Prime Minister gave them an account of his recent visit to Rome.
A statement by Mr Chamberlain on the visit is expected to be made when Parliament reassembles on January 31. Important Government pronouncements on other current questions are also expected in reply to questions on Palestine, air raid precautions dnd the Czechslovakian loan. Air raid precautions will also bo the subject of early legislation.
Police Search For Seven-Foot
Sailboat.
Police are searching for a sevenfoot sailboat which has been reported missing from the harbour board slip. Parua Bay Road. Painted green on the top, with white sides and red copper bottom, and with its name. “Dawn,” marked on the stern, the boat is of the Tauranga Class. It was moored at the slip on Saturday, but has not been seen since. It is owned by Eric Packwood, of Kauika Road. Investigations are being carried out by the Whangarei police.
