THE UNITED STATES NAVY’S K2, the largest non-rigid airship ever built, is seen making her maiden flight over Akron Airport recently. Inflated with more than 400,000 cubic feet of helium, the K2 has an overall height of 76 feet. After a number of test flights the dirigible was flown to Lakehurst. The huge Goodyear-Zeppelin Air Dock Is shown at the right.
