Clothes Thief Causes Embarrassment

Some light-fingered person was responsible for an embarrassing halfhour to two Whangarei young ladies last night.

After a round of tennis they changed in the ladies’ dressing-shed at the Town Wharf, leaving their clothes and their tennis racquets while they went for a swim. On returning to dross it was discovered that thieves had been at work and many articles of clothing had disappeared. The dress of one girl was left, as was the blazer of the other, A tennis racquet was similarly hot taken and a purse, containing no money, was also left untouched. It is understood that some time ago another young lady left a ring and a I •viristlet watch in the same place. On | that occasion the watch only was! taken. The matter has been placed in the hands of the police.
