The Court of Appeal, at Jerusalem, quashed the sentence, passed on J. Mansell, one of four British plain clothes constables at Jaffa, charged with unjustifiable killing of an Arab who was alleged to have been shot when escaping from prison. The court held that Mansell was justified in firing in view of the appalling conditions in Jaffa. \
