Gumdiggers’ Camp Burned
A gumdiggers’- whare, shared by Messrs. J. Johnson and Churchis at Lake Ohia,' was totally destroyed by a fire, the cause of which is unknown. Nothing was saved and the loss to the men concerned is estimated at between £73 and £BO. It is understood that a special meeting of the African Cricket Association decided, subject to -Viscount Nuffield-s approval, to use his gift of £IO,OOO to finance an annual inter-pro? vincial schools tournament to enable boys to develop “big match temperament.”
