Campbell Wins At Portland Tourney

The Portland Bowling Club hold a half-day tournament on Saturday, when the rinks were filled with teams from the local, as well as all district clubs. The weather was good for bowling, and the greens were in fine order. Three teams, Campbell (Whangarei), Waldor (Kensington), and Johnson (Hikurangi), came through with three wins each. Campbell drew the bye. and Johnson beat Walder. 5 —3. In the final, of throe heads, Campbell and Johnson were all square with four points each, flul, in the extra head. at a critical stage, Campbell drew a toucher and so settled the issue. The winning team comprised Gibbs, Beaton, Cox and Campbell, of the Whangarei Club.
