Farouk As Leader Of World Islam
(Received 10 a.m.) CAIRO. January 21. A sensation has been caused by the unprecedented action of King Farouk of Egypt in taking the place of a priest and conducting a service in the Quosoun Mosque, after which the congregation hailed him as Caliph of Islam. The reception given the King proved that he would be representatively supported as leader of a united Arab front. This action is accepted as a sign that he would be willing to assume the world leadership of Islam.
