Dargaville Woman Tempted By “Nighties”

[Special to “Ntsrthern *Advocate ”3 DARGAVILLE, This Day.

Pleading guilty to the theft of six nightdresses valued at £2/14/6 from a local draper, Ivy Adams, married, appeared in the Magistrate’s Court this morning, before Messrs. G. H. Wansbone and S. D. Day. J.’sP. • Sergeant Culloty said that on Saturday the woman had made a few purchases in a shop. Later, she was seen looking at the nightdresses, and an assistant approached her and asked if there was anything else she wanted. Accused stated that she was only looking at the garments. After the woman had left the shop, said Sergeant Culloty, three nightdresses were found to be missing from their hangers. The woman returned again later in the afternoon, when another three nightdresses were found to be missing. Accused was fined £2 and was ordered to make restitution.
