Farewell Presentation To Borough Officer
Terminating his association with the Whangarei Borough Council office after 15 years’ service, Mr C. A. Doel was farewelled by fellow staff-members and borough officers on Friday afternoon. Mr Doel intends entering business in a private capacity. Appreciation of the effecient service rendered the borough by Mr Doel was expressed by the Mayor, Mr W. Jones. Among other speakers were the Town Clerk, Mr L. O. Hall, the borough engineer, Mr I. A. Cromie, and the librarian, Miss M. Bain, all of whom voiced best wishes for his success and for the future happiness of himself and Mrs Doel. As a tangible token of esteem, Mr Hall presented the guest of the gathering with an 'attache case, Mr Doel responding.
