R.t JBenjamih, who is holidaying here With Mrs G. Proudc, of Bombay. Mrs W. J. Orr, of Whau Vjdley, gave a very enjoyable contract bridge party on Thursday afternoon for the visitors. The rooms were ■flanged with bowls of glorious carnations and the hostess received her guests wearing a gown of azure-blue oe sole. The same morning Mrs Benjamin and Mrs Proude both hostessed a jojly morning tea party' at the Marble Some of the guests at both of these parties were: Mesdames Harold Cotter, W. H. Millington, J. G. 3. McKay, P. J. Good-

win, G. W. Bennett T. Mitchell, H. N, Geissler and Jack Woolley.

At this time of the year the comings and goings are naturally large. Mrs H. W. Cormack and her small son Michael are staying with Mrs W. J. Glanville at her bach at Matapouri. Mrs G. W. Bennett has returned from visiting her niece, Mrs lan Tudehope, of Wellington. Joan Rishworth, who is now in Auckland Karitane nursing, spent a week, or so with her parents at their seaside house at Onerahi. « * . Mrs Jack Evans and daughter Mary, have taken a bach at Waipu and another lass also there is Noreen Knowles, who will be one of this year's brides. The lan Carrs, who spent three weeks cruising in Northern waters, returned this wSek. Joyce Hosking has also arrived home from a Imliday in Russell. Dorothy Steele is visiting Rotorua, while Mrs Clinton Jones and family have taken a bach at Taurikura. O ,l> * O Mrs W. Elliott and the Misses Broughton-Carr are at Dang’s Beach. Mrs Bruce Burgess and her small daughter, Mary Lyn, have been the guests of Mrs R. G. Hosking, and have now returned to their home in Thames. ■ i
