Shepherd Walks 30 Miles To Report Fatal Crash

(Received 11 a.m.) LONDON, January 11 A Royal Air Force bomber, undeitaking a training flight, crashed in the Galloway hills and the four occupants were killed, , A shepherd saw smoke and found the burnt-out plane. He then travelled 30 miles over snow-covered hills to bring the news. Meanwhile an Air Force machine, searching for the bomber, descended to within 200 feet to examine the wreckage, ran into an air-pocket and crashed nearby. The crew of two were uninjured.
