Improved Demand At Westfield Today
[Special to “Northern Advocate ” 3 AUCKLAND, This Day.
At the Westfield stock sale today the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency 'Company, Ltd., reports an average yarding of beef. There was an improved demand, values firming, although quotations are the same as last' week.
Quotations: Extra choice ox sold to 38/- per 100 lbs.; choice ox 33/- to 37/; ordinary and plain, 28/ to 32/; prime young cow and heifer beef, 30/- to 35/-; ordinary cow beef, 23/ to 29/-.
Heavy prime steers made £l3 to £l4/17/6; lighter prime steers. £ll to £l2/17/6; light prime steers, £9/10/to £lO/17/6; small and unfinished steers, £7 to £9/5/-; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £9/7/6 to £lO/5/-; heavy prime cows and heifers, £8 to £9/5/-; lighter prime cows and heifers, £6/10/ to £7/17/6; light prime cows and heifers, £5 to £6/7/6; other killable cows, £3/5/- to £4/17/6.
