Import Control Board Not Proposed
AUCKLAND, This Day. A report which has been repeated in Auckland that the Government intended to create an Import Control Board to administer the regulations governing imports, was not confirmed by the Prime Minister, the Hon. M. J. Savage, yesterday. Mr Savage said he had not heard of it, and the Government would do whatever seemed best for a given set of circumstances. Nobody could say definitely what the Government would do next month or next year. “I think that rumour is what is known as a kite,” Mr Savage said.
