NORTHLAND TRIBE

“Advocate” Office, Water St- Whangarei, Tuesday* Janiwy 3, 1939. Hello Everybody—--1939! And another birthday for the Kupe Club. It’s interesting to look back and see the progress we’ve made since January Ist, 1936. There’s no doubt abodt it, Northlanders, we can safely claim to have lived up to our Club motto in the last three years. And long with, our feeling of saiisraccron over the past, we’ll all he making resolutions to have this year as good and better than any that have gone before. I don’t quite know what surprises Kupe has up his sleeve for you. but I know he has one or two that will give Warriors and Maidens fresh chances of spreading happiness. I’m hoping the Small Person has a few pleasant surprises (in the way of quiet nights) for me too. I regret to state that he hasn’t suddenly turned Into a 1939 Silent Model, but he is improving. By the way, he celebrated the Club Birthday by taking his first motor ride in Betty B, and liked It so much, he protested loudly whenever we stopped. Gracious! there he is now! Best wishes for a thoroughly happy and useful New Year, everyone. Cheerio till next week.

Princess., Northland Tribe.
