The annual conference of the North Now Zealand area of the Seventh Day Adventist Church is being held here, delegates being encamped at the Showgrounds. In presenting his report, the secretary, Mr R. E. G. Blai, referring to the progress of the Church in the North Island, said 52 persons were actively engaged in full-time service. The membership was 1941, the average yearly inci'ease being 97 over the last five years. During the nine months ended September 30, 100 persons had been accepted into membership, and the number had considerably increased since then. There were 21 church buldings in the area, as well as two church school buildings. Many new buildings for expansion of the Church were contemplated. The treasurer’s statement showed receipts for the nine months at £11,179, an increase of £621. During the same period £6924 was contributed towards mission work. The total credit balances were £9288, indicating the strong position of the Church.
