Sweden’s Most Precious Antique Stolen

STOCKHOLM, December 28. ’ Sweden’s most precious antique, the Vadstena Braktea, a golden ornament dating from the year .400, has been stolen from, the Royal Historical Museum. It is valued at £20,000. The ornament was dug up in 1587 at Vadstena, where St. Brigitta founded a convent. It is unique, because it is the only ornament of its kind with an inscription in the Runic alphabet It was removed during the night from the museum’s safe, which was not damaged.
