Mr. And Mrs. Marsden Woods Entertained

A pleasant evening was spent by the vestry and choir of Christ Church in the Vicarage garden on Monday, the occasion being to wish bon voyage to Mr and Mrs Marsden Woods who are shortly leaving for a holiday in Australia and Tasmania, and to give them a token of the appreciation by the parish of their services to the church. Mr Woods has been organist for 10 years and has also for a like period been secretary to the vestry. Mrs Woods is a valued member of the choir.

Tea was set out on the lawn, and more than 40 guests partook thereof. A treasure hunt and the throwing of darts, and songs by Miss Steele, Mrs Woods and Mrs Malloy made the time pass quickly but pleasantly. . The vicar, on behalf of the vestry and choir and of the whole parish, asked Mr and Mrs Woods to accept an entree dish, and wished them a very happy holiday. Mr M. Porter also spoke of the very valuable services of Mr and Mrs Woods to the church. A perfect evening made the gathering a most enjoyable one.
