Bomber’s Crew Safe

(Received 12.30 p.m.) DARWIN. Tins Day,

No concern is felt for the safety of the crew of the R.A.F. Vickers-Welles-ley bomber, which made a forced landing in wild country 130 miles north-east of Derby. The men were

sighted from the air on Saturday, and a rescue party from Walcot Inlet tnission station is expected to reach them to-day, after a trek of 54 miles through difficult country. The ’plane will probably have to be abandoned.

More food has been dropped to the crew, and they have plenty of water in nearby creeks.
