Pine, who recently returned to the saddle and was successful on Royal Record at Feilding and Otaki, broke a collarbone when the hurdler Otaki fell with him on the second day of the Woodville meeting. A sinew of the shoulder was also torn, and he will be out of the saddle for about six weeks.
