Whangarei School Break-up Concert

Small people from the preparatory classes of the Whangarei Primary school were splendidly trained for their annual break-up concert, held in the infant rooms on Thursday night. They were a credit to Miss Smith and her assistants and thoroughly pleased an audience of parents and friends. Opening remarks were made by the headmaster, Mr H. K. Horner, and

Mr J. G. Barclay, M.P., and the Mayoress, Mrs W. Jones, also spoke. At tiie conclusion of the entertainment an appeal for the Tikipunga Orphanage fund resulted in £3 11/7 being collected. Dances, songs and carols with, playettes contributed to the programme, soloists being; recitations: Enid Runciman, Nancy Lovatt, Robert Carr. Billy Saul and Mary Ace; unaccompanied song, Valerie Jones; dance, Yvonne Noil; duo dance. Fat Ford and Yvonne Neil.
