The record acceptances received for the annual meeting of the Waipa Racing Club, to be held at To Rapa to-morrow, include many Auckland Cup and Railway Handicap candidates, whose presence will add great interest to the fixture.

way in the Railway Handicap. Her success over a mile in the Spring Plate indicates that she should see put eyen such a torrid six furlongs as the Railway promises to be. Preparing for G.N. Derby. Defaulter has done everything required of him recently in a very satisfactory manner, although so far he has not entered on the serious stage of his preparation for the Great Northern Derby. He is due to arrive at Ellerslie on Sunday morning, and his winding-up work will be completed at Auckland. Arrivals at Te Rapa. Chief Lap arrived at Te Rapa on Wednesday. British Banner, who was also booked to make the trip, was cast in his stall and remained in Whangarei. Dictate was expected to arrive from Christchurch yesterday morning, when Arctic King was due from Wellington. Birthday Boy and Wapaugh were sent from Auckland on Wednesday, and participated in the final gallops yesterday. Birthday Boy going particularly well.
