Personal Pars
Constable R. E. Fell, of Auckland, is on temporary transfer to the Whangarei police force. Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Miller left by car today for Hawke’s Bay, where they will spend the holidays. Scoutmaster L. E. Philpott, of the first Whangarei troop of Boy Scouts left Whangarei by the express this morning for Auckland preparatory to leaving for the Scout Jamboree in Australia. Mr Philpott is in charge of the Kauri Troop from Wairoa, Hawke’s Bay and the Bay of Plenty. The first official cans on the Gover-nor-General, Lord Galway, at Government House, were made yesterday by Commodore J. W. Kivetfr-Carnac, of H.M.S. Leander, and Colonel O. H. Mead, Officer Commanding the Northern Military District. These two officers then exchanged calls, to the Leander and military headquarters. Before Commodore Rivett-Carnac proceeded to Government House, he was accorded a salute of 11 guns from North Head. •
