Travelling Expenses For Centennial Delegates

Authorised delegates attending summoned meetings in connection with Northland Zone A Centennial Executive will receive 4d per mile motorcar allowance and out-of-pocket travelling expenses. Moving in this direction last night, the chairman, Mr W. Jones, first included members of sub-zone executives.

Attention to the large expense involved was drawn by Mr H. T. Atkinson, who considered that if sub-zone executive members were to be reimbursed it would be unfair to members of supplementary committees, who, perhaps, would be called upon to do just as much work and travelling. Remuneration for Secretaries. Before consideration of travelling expenses, remuneration for the hardworking secretaries should be decided upon, Mr Atkinson thought. Finally, the chairman’s motion was amended to include the central executive only, and in that form it was carried, sub-zones being left to form their own decisions on the matter. A recommendation to all sub-zones that, before their affairs were finally wound up, consideration be given to the payment of a bonus or honorarium to their secretaries, was also carried.
