Hikurangi Butter Sells In 1/2Lb Pats

Tomorrow, half-pound pats of pure creamery butter are to be introduced to local consumers by the Hikurangi Co-op. Dairy Company, Ltd. In taking this step the company is studying the convenience and the requirements of consumers who, from the point of view of economy, prefer to buy their butter in small quantities at frequent intervals rather than in the larger pound pats which, naturally take longer to consume. Retains Freshness.

Through this innovation the butter will be less time out of its wrapper, and will .consequently present, a fresh appearance on the table.

The Hikurangi Company has been in existence for over 35 years. Its output in 1929-30 was 1283 tons; last year it made, 2801 tons or over 100 per cent, than in 1929-30. Its suppliers number 553. The average grade of its butter fs 93.438 per cent. The cream received at the factory is very highly graded, a large percentage being finest. The half-pound pats are being put up in attractive wrappers and stocks will be available at the Devon Dairy, in Water Street. House-to-house morning deliveries will also be made three times a week by Mr R. Fleming. Kamo Road. ■/
