Keen Competition At Kamo Sale
Walter Wakelin reports having held his weekly Kamo sale yesterday, when fully the advertised number of cattle and pigs came forward to s full bench of buyers. Competition in both the cattle and pig sections was keen, and practically a total clearance was effected.
Drary cows close to profit made from £7 5/ to £8; others, £6 to, £6 17/6; cows and heifers in milk, £4 to £6 5/; springing dairy heifers, £5 15/ to £6 10/; fat and forward Jersey cows. £4 15/ to £5 5/; cows and calves, £4 15/ to £6; boner bulls, £4 to £5 8/; boner cows, £2 15/ to £3 1/; yearling Jersey heifers, £3 5/ to £3/12/6; service bulls, yearling, £4/15/- to £5/10/-. Sheep: Fat wethers, 18/ to 21/6; shorn ewe hoggets, black face, to 16 '; shorn wethers hoggets, blackface, to 13/;. aged ewes, to 6/3. Pigs:—Heavy baconers, £3 8/ to £3 13/3; medium baconers, £3 3/ to £3 7/6; light baconers, £2 17/ to £3 2/; heavy porkers, £2 13/ to £2 16/; medium porkers, £2 7/ to £2 11/; light porkers, £2 to £2 4/; unfinished porkers and butter milk pigs, £1 15/ to £2B/; small stores, 28/- to 33/-; good slips, 26/- to 30/-; best weaners, 17/- to 21/-; small weaners, 12/- to 15/-; service boars, £2 to £2 10/; breeding sows, £2 to i £2/7/6.
