There was a stronger market for fat lambs and fat sheep at the weekly stock market at Addington yesterday, but fat cattle, store sheep, fat pigs .and vealers were easier.

A line of young wethers from the plains made 17/1; medium sorts, 12/to 14/10; culls, down to 5/-; ewes and lambs, 11/1 to 11/6; cull wether hoggets, 6/3 to 6/9. Fat sheep.—Exporters paid to 18/4 for export wethers. Butchers’ ewes sold about 1/6 better than a week .ago. Extra prime heavy wethers made to 28/10; prime heavy, 21/- to 24/-; prime medium, 18/6 to 20/6; light, to 15/6; prime ewes, 18/- to 21/-; prime medium, 15/6 to 17/6; light, to 10/6. Cattle.—On the average, values for best beef were down 10/- to 15/-, and cows a full 15/-. Best beef ranged around 36/- to 37/6 per lOOlbs; medium, about 35/-.
