Ota m a tea will celebrate the foundation of the county on March 8 and 9. Mangonui is holding a carnival week between February 18 and 22, and will hold ,an A. and P. These dates have boon forwarded to the Auckland 'Provincial Council for confirmation.

Clashing Not Detrimental,

At the meeting there was some comment on the fact that the dates clashed in some instances. Delegates felt, however, that, where centres were some distances apart, there would be little disadvantage in holding functions on the same date. For example, Matamata and Whangarei will be celebrating at the same time. “I can’t see how celebrations in the North would clash with any in other parts of the Dominion,’’ commented the chairman. Mr W. Johes.
