Big Yarding At Westfield

AUCKLAND, This Day,
An increase in the yarding of fat cattle at the Westfield fat stock sale today resulted in a slight easing in the market. Values are still high, however, only 1/- to 2/- per lOOlbs. lower than those ruling over the past fortnight, which were the highest in the memory of most of the auctioneers and their clients. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., reports: Extra choice ox sold to 43/- per 100 lbs; choice and prime ox, 38/- to 42/-; ordinary and plain. 30/'- to 35/-; prime young cow and heifer, 35/- to 40/-; ordinary cow beef, 28/- to 34/-. No extra heavy prime steers were penned. Heavy prime steers brought from £ls to £l6 5/-; lighter, £l3 to £l4 15/-; light, £ll to £l2 7/6; small and unfinished steers, £9 to £lO 17/6. Extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £ll to £l2 17/6; heavy prime cows and heifers, £9 5/- to £lO 15/-; lighter, £7 10/- to £9; light, £5 15/to £7 5/-; other killable cows, £3 5/to £5 10/-.
