House-To-House Massacre

(Received 1.30 p.m.) HAIFA, October 3.

One hundred rebels attacked the Jewish quarters at Tiberias, and perpetrated a house-to-house massacre, killing 21 Jews, including seven children. . Four rebels were killed, and many on both sides were wounded in subsequent fighting.

Rebels also made a surprise attack and shot a Jewish watchman, slaughtered men, women and children, and set fire to a synagogue and Government buildings.

Ten Arabs were killed and four wounded when a land mine exploded at Jaffa. Over 100 Arabs have been killed in the past two days as the result of encounters with Government forces.
