A cablegram received in Wellington from London announces the death on September 29, of Mr James Allan Strang, a former pastoralist in the Manawatu district, and a polo player.
The death occurred in Napier yesterday, of Canon Eric Dudley Rice, aged 62 years. Erom 1916 to 1925 he was the Vicar of St. Augustine’s, Napier.
• The Hon. H. G. R. Mason, Minister of Justice, who laid the foundation stone of the Whangarei Supreme Court building yesterday, proceeded to Rawene today. Tomorrow he will go to Kaitaia, and on the following day to Kaikohe, while on Friday he will be at Paparoa, speaking at these places. He will return to Auckland on Saturday.
