Mr A. Duff-Cooper, who has resigned the portfolio of First Lord of the Admiralty in the British Cabinet owing to disagreement with the Government’s foreign policy as exemplified in dealing with the Czechoslovakian crisis. Born in 1890, Mr Duff -Cooper served in the Great War, and won the D.S.O. He entered Parliament in 1924. He was Financial Secretary to the War Office prior to being appointed First Lord of the Admiralty.
