The new creek bed in the lower Ngahauranga Gorge. From the top of the wall to the old creek bed on the left, a depth of some sixty feet, is to be filled in and will carry the new road. The new watercourse, the bed of which is seen on the right of the wall, has a concrete floor. Buttress-weirs are spaced all along to reduce the speed of the current when in flood.
