Ten days ago the Waikato branc’. of the Labour Party invited the Maj or of Cambridge, Mr Edgar jfcmc*. id take the chair at the meeting ’/f the Minister of Finance, thelfiSoH. T. Nash, to be held tonight. MS' James was telephoned, that the executive had no confidence in him as chairman, and as lh>.y did not consider he would be impartial, another chairman would be appointed “I keenly resent the impufeiOh, and consider it an insult not ojily to me, but to the people of Cambridge, who elected me Mayor of the t<>wn,” said Mr James. Mr James has presided during the past year at meetings addressed by Mr Savage, Mr J. A. Lee, the Hon. H. T. Armstrong, the Hon. W. Nash and the Hon. W. E Parry.
