'Karamea Farewells Mr. and Mrs. Woolhouse
The Maungakaramea Hall was packed to the doors recently, the occa-* sion being a farewell tendered to Mr and Mrs E. Woolhouse by their fellow settlers of Tauraroa, Maungakaramea, and surrounding districts. After 21 years’ continued residence in the district, they have decided to retire and live in Whangarei. * Following a splendid supper provided by the ladies, Mr T. O’Carroll presented the guests with a beautiful chiming clock, and also extended to
them the best wishes of all present in their retirement. Mr Robinson and Mr Owens, of Tauraroa, in neat speeches, also extended their best wishes to the departing friends. Mr Woclhouse, in replying,'thanked the gathering for their beautiful gift, which would be for ever greatly valued by Mrs Woolhouse and himself. The Tauraroa Orchestra supplied the dance music, while Mr L. O’Carroll acted as M.C.
