Sino - Jap. War Declaration Expected

HONGKONG, September 30
Anticipating a definite declaration of war between China and Japan, the “Government has gazetted regulations providing for the internment of belligerent ships. | A Shanghai message states that a [claim to have outflanked and surrounded almost the whole of Prince Naruhiko’s crack 13th Division, near Sliawa. is made by the Chinese leader. General Li Tsung-jcn, The Japanese admit that two Chinese divisions penetrated the lines of the 13th , Division, but claimed that the Japanese arc still in control of the , situation.
The main Japanese forces have reached Loshan. The Chinese, after futile counter-attacks, withdrew, leaving 940 killed. The Chinese are reported to have lost 8000 dead when Tienkiachen fell.
