Titoki Tennis Club Opening
The Titoki Tennis Club was favoured with perfect weather for the opening of its courts on Saturday. The two concrete courts are in excellent playing condition and the visitors from surrounding clubs, and the local players gave seme good exhibitions. A progressive tournament was won by Miss P. Purvis and Mr J. Barron. During the afternoon, Mr W. Jack, on behalf of the local residents, presented Mr and Mrs Rix Fraser, who are leaving the district, with a dinner set and entree dish, while each of their children received a suitable gift. Reference was made to the whole-hearted manner in which Mr and Mrs Fraser had worked for the benefit cf the district.
Mr Jack added that their place would be almost impossible to fill. He wished them every success in their new sphere. Mr 'and Mrs Fraser were accorded musical honours.
Mr Fraser suitably replied on behalf of his wife and family.
Mrs Fraser performed the usual ceremony to open the courts for the season.
