[Special to “Northern Advocate .” 3 RUSSELL, This Day.

Russell wharf has been exceptionally busy over the last few days. The Auckland scow Ngahau, which had been discharging cargo, departed to pick up a load of Bay shingle for Auckland on ' Sunday morning. On .Sunday afternoon the Auckland scow Alma arrived, and tied up to the wharf. The Alma was in the Bay for a lead of shingle, when a mishap occurred to the donkey engine. Loading will again commence as soon as repairs are effected. The Mata! Calls. On Saturday evening, the Government steamer Matai, which is servicing the northern lighthouses, put into Gpua wharf for a supply of fresh water. The vessel sailed again early on Sunday morning. Advice has been received by the Harbourmaster that the New Zealand Shipping Company's Remuera will arrive in the Bay on October 11. She will berth at Opua to load Northland frozen produce.
