Spotlight 0n.... Lord Runciman
Lord Runciman, well-known British shipoioner and diplomat, has shouldered the responsibility of bringing about a peaceful settlement of the Sudeten German and the Czech problem, the outcome of which is anxiously awaited in all the principal countries. Lord Runciman was born in 1870, and, after a successful university career, became president of the Chamber of United Kingdom Shipping in 1926. He has held %umerous< (cither important public posts, one of the latest being the Presidency of the British Board of Trade. He recently undertook negotiations with the Powers concerned with the Sudeten German .and Czech problem with the object of averting war. The results will hare important bearings on the turn of European events.
