[Speciu] to “Northern Advocate.”] WELLSFORD, This Day. Early yesterday evening, as the result of a motor car colliding with a telegraph pole about half-a-mile north of Wellsford, a temporary disruption in telegraphic and telephonic communication between Auckland and Whangarei was caused.

Driven by Mr R. Woodcock, of Wellsford, the motor car struck a pedestrian, Mr W. A. Partington, of Wellsford, who was not seriously injured, swerved across the road, smashed into the pole, and fell down a six-foot bank. The driver was uninjured. A repair gang from Warkworth restored the broken lines a short time later.
