Winter Holiday Makers
The Bay o£ Islands is becoming a winter, as well as a summer, holiday rendezvous, many people from all parts of Now Zealand visiting various corners during the past few weeks. In fact, a glance at the visitors’ books in different houses of accommodation shows that a steady stream of visitors has travelled through during the past few months. Even of late, caravan and motor campers have been seen in the various motor camping grounds at Bussell and Fa'ihia. Down at Ctehoi Bay a party of winter holiday-makers, including Mr and Mrs J. Blackmore. Auckland; Messrs. A. J. Qorry, England; C. Dyjmenl, Wellington; A. J. Strutt, Auckland; H. Clinton Savage. Auckland; G. A. Clark, Auckland, and H. J. Eently, Auckland, have been enjoying some excellent sport among the smaller fish. Hapuka, kahawai and schnapper—many of the latter weighing up to 14 lbs.—-were in plentiful numbers, and good bags resulted. Crayfish ‘‘potting” was also a popular pastime with the party, who had great success in this direction.
