En time of stress there is always | some person to fill a breach. On J Saturday evening, when part of j Kaitaia was struck by a whirl- i wind of more than usual sever- , ity, a telegraph pole in Redan j Road was snapped off at the base i and hurled to the opposite side ( of the street, strewing the road | with wires. It was an embarass- j ment to motorists who may have ■ been in serious trouble had not J Mrs H. A. Bagley stationed her- j self in the middle of the road ■ with a torch, warning motorists j of the danger until the arrival j of gangs of workmen from the i P. and T. Department. J ■
