Pick-A-Back Plane’s Flight
(Received 10 a.m. 1 ) LONDON, July 20. Carrying a cargo of photographic and written records of the Royal visit to France, the Pick-a-Back 'plane Mercury took off from Foynes for America at 5 p.m. and successfully separated from its mother-craft at sea. This is the first of 15 Atlantic experimental round-flights planned by Imperial Airways before the end of the year with the Mercury and an improved Imperial Airways flying-boat and an Albatross land 'plane. It is expected that regular services will be commenced thereafter.
