Albertland’s Good Year
At the annual meeting of the Alberiland Co-operative Dairy Co.. Ltd., there was a large attendance of suppliers. Mr H. M. Neal, chairman of directors, in his report stated that the output of butter for the year was 1334 tons, an increase of 288 tons over the previous season. This was mainly due to an increase of 70 suppliers under the zoning scheme. Owing to the inci eased tonnage there was a reduction in cream cartage, and only a slight increase in manufacturing costs. It was announced that a deferred payment of 2jJd (less 'd for share capital) will be made on July 20. This includes the additional payment being made by (lie Government and will bring the average payment over all grades lo 14.7 d per lb of butterfal at harm gates, less deduction for share capital. The average grade for butter exported was 93.87. The trading department had an increased turnover, the value of goods sold to suppliers being £35,415. A rebate of 9d in the £ on most goods will be paid to suppliers while a further t)d will be credited to those suppliers in a trade reserve account. Messrs. J. D. Stewart ( Hakaru) and W. Armour (Whangarlpo), retiring directors were re-elected unopposed. It was resolved to make a contribution at the rate of 6d. a ton of butter made lo Hie compensated price campaign. Mr. H. M. Neal (Port Albert) was re-appointed chairman. I
